Not What I Thought it Would Be.
I gave this app a three-star rating for two reasons:
1. It does appear to take a great deal of CPU power. I noticed that the apps responsiveness was increasingly becoming sluggish the longer I used it. I had 2.5 GB of available memory on my 16 GB iPad 3rd generation.
2. The apps description, and certain user comments, gave me the impression that the app generates a word cloud similar to the clouds generated by Wordl. That is not true. The cloud this app generates does not alter words based on the frequency of that word in the text. Stated differently, a standard Wordl word-cloud contains words that vary in size. The larger the word in the cloud, the greater number of times it appears in the text. Visual poetry does not do this. It merely rearranges the words into a variety of shapes, not much else.
I did not want to give a 1-star rating because the apps developer may not have intended Visual Poetry to mimic the features of Wordl. In that case, the error was mine. Given that, I could not give a 5-star rating because of the sluggish responsiveness.
